Program Overview

  • The ASU Accelerated Research Training Experience & Mentorship in STEM (ARTEMIS) Precollege Summer Institute (PSI) is a two-week, day residential camp for rising sophomore and junior high school students interested in pursuing a STEM-based career, sponsored by NASA. Participating students will explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The ARTEMIS Precollege Summer Institute offers active, hands-on learning in STEM, and college preparation and career-based mentoring. ASU students, faculty, and staff organize a week of creative activities and lessons incorporating science into the daily curricula, including flying UAVs (drones), launching rockets, microcontrollers, and chemistry. Students will also participate in a week-long Data Science and Artificial Intelligence workshop hosted in part by Wells Fargo. Students will also be introduced to real-world science applications through off-campus trips to locations such as the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The program is committed to enhancing science education and increasing the number of minorities and women in STEM fields. Program includes: Two weeks of housing and meals (costs covered) Supplies for STEM Activities Field Trip to the Kennedy Space Center, Orlando, Florida
