Baltimore MUREP Aerospace Academy at Morgan State University

Program Overview

  • Baltimore MUREP Aerospace Academy is an innovative program designed to increase participation and retention of historically underrepresented K-12 youth in the area of STEM. BMAA engages students, parents/adult family members teachers and communities by incorporating emerging technologies. BMAA utilizes a rigorous STEM curricula, designed and implemented by NASA. BMAA "hands-on, minds-on" curricula, is aligned to national and state math, science and technology standards.

Benefits

  • The BMAA program at Morgan State University is free and open to ALL Maryland students in grades K-12 and their parents. During the academic year, classes meet nine (9) consecutive Saturdays for fall and spring sessions and in summer, there are four (4) one-week sessions when classes meet Monday through Friday. All classes are conducted in the Science Complex from 10:00 am to 2:00 p.m. during our fall and spring Saturday Academy and 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. during our summer STEM DAY CAMP session. Parents/family members participate in Family Involvement Initiative which is an interactive forum for parents and adults to support students educational growth and development which include hands-on activities, workshops, guest speakers and roundtable discussions.
